Precarn Inc., our latest group member on Flintbox, has just announced a multi-million dollar funding initiative today. Precarn is requesting proposals regarding intelligent systems technologies in the area of clean-tech. Up to $700,000 is available per project, providing strong incentive to companies working in this area.
Today Precarn announced a $2.1 million funding boost to promote the research and development (R&D) efforts of the Canadian companies applying intelligent systems to solve commercial problems in the environment and manufacturing sectors.
With a focus on the introduction and advancement of innovative made-in-Canada solutions, the initiative aims to fund commercially viable projects that address the challenges of the Canadian environmental technology and manufacturing industries. The deadline for submissions for concept documents is May 9, 2008, and for final proposals June 27, 2008.
Precarn Inc. is a not-for-profit company supporting pre-commercial technology development in ilCT – intelligent information and communications technology. Precarn is implementing Flintbox as a component of their R&D Commercialization Network, a portal offered to their members to help bridge the ‘innovation gap’ by finding information, people, partners and technology.
Says Gary Gudbranson, Director of Marketing and Communications at Precarn,
Flintbox is a vital tool for our members, allowing them to stay on top of emerging innovations in Canada by finding out what research is available and who’s involved.
